To paddle between the high cliffs of the Mighty Douro River is an unforgettable experience. 

 

The steep banks, also known as “arribas”, offer a rich wildlife, especially in relation to nesting birds: the Griffon Vulture, the Egyptian Vulture, the Black Stork, the Golden Eagle, the Bonelli's Eagle, among other almost sixty bird species.

 

You will be moved by the breath-taking views. Water has carved the banks of the River Douro for centuries, forming monumental canyons covered with the local flora. The combination of geography and Mediterranean climate provide the settings for a rich biodiversity.
